For my birthday Chad took me to the Musical Wicked. I had heard about it... well, I heard it was good. About the only thing I knew about the story was that it was about the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz and that she was born green. That was all I needed to know. Normally when I go to a show I already know the music and have probably seen the book, saw the movie... read the comic book (though I was surprised when Elmo choose his occupation in Sesame Street Live - the last show I saw)... This way the entire time I was able to speculate what would happen - and was usually surprised.
Not only did Chad get me tickets to the show I wanted to see but the seats he got were amazing! 8
th row smack-dab center (my favorite) Wow! I hate sitting on the side and missing half the action.
So anyone who has the
opportunity to see Wicked I highly recommend it! Don't listen to the music until after, either. Chad bought me the CD at the show and already,
according to our
iTunes, I have listened to it 14 times (not counting the times I've listened to the
actual CD itself). Even as I post this my culturally-challenged son said, "Oh, Mom, not that witch again! You need to get that out of your head." Maybe in a few more days (weeks).
