Jason's First Swim

It's been so hot lately. Chad & Kelsey go swimming everyday. I finally gave in and went with them to take pictures of Kelsey swimming. Jace spent most of the time in the gym sleeping in his car seat (with the air conditioning on)

I forgot his swim diaper (one of Kelsey's old Little Mermaid ones) so he just went in al natural. He wasn't impressed. Frankly, the water was so cold I wasn't too anxious to get in either. Chad took him in for a minute or two. We figure we'll give him another few months then try again :)

K Asleep

I thought the trampoline nap was bad...

It was time to go and I couldn't find Kelsey. I was wondering if she went out to see Grandpa in the shop...

I saw a picture like this in a magazine and wanted to recreate it but I was running out of time... Collin wouldn't do it and I didn't have anyone to take it so I used a tripod, timer and a prayer - it turned out okay all things considered...

Collin is so excited to show everyone his baby brother. He's been telling everyone about him. The neighbors have come up and asked me about some of the things Collin said, doubting that he got it right - but he is the authority on all things Jason.

Family Pictures

Thanks to Kayla and the other sis-in-laws we got all the cousins together when Kristy was visiting... all 11 of them (12 if Brennan could have made it from Hawaii)

Can you believe we got all the kids together - and smiling - at once! I wanted a family pregnancy picture but the had the lights set up for the kids (down low) and we were the last ones and the kids were tired... All things considered it turned out better than I thought

More pictures

I haven't taken any professional pictures of Jason yet but I do several just on my bed of the baby...

I remember hearing one mother saying how she just leaves her baby in pajamas all day. I thought that was so weird... now Jace hardly ever gets to wear anything else. Some of it is practicality - his night gowns have built in mits to protect his face from his sharp finger nails... Some of it is just tiredness and apathy - who cares if he wears pjs all day - they're comfy... Good thing I'm stopping at 3 kids - who know what I'd try to get away with if I had 7 kids...

1st Day of School

See, I finally stopped procrastinating and registered Collin for public school (the day before Jason was born.) I really struggled over the decision but I think it will be fine...

Collin came home from the first day (half day) and told me, "Mom, 2nd grade is way easier than first!" Hopefully he'll keep thinking that. He does enjoy playing with his neighborhood friends though I haven't gotten up the nerve to find a ride for Collin in the morning (my main reason for switching schools was for carpool/ride opportunities) It's not so bad taking Collin except for mornings like today after Jason doesn't let me have more than an hour or two of sleep all night... (can you tell I'm a bit sleep deprived - I'm having a tough time concentrating - my mind's wandering a bit - sorry)
