Collin's Birthday at Disneyland

I decided to save myself some energy we drove down to Disneyland Sunday night and spent the night (instead of driving for 2 hours and then walking for 12 hours) I slept OK but I had the excitement/anticipation thing so I didn't sleep as deep as usual. Luckily Collin didn't have the same problem.
Collin got an early morning wake up call from Betsy. I had it on speaker so I could hear too. She said she wanted to be the first to call him on his birthday. He disagreed and said that she was the second - that grandma had already called (???) So when he finished I asked him who called - which grandma - just in case he was getting special cell phone calls from beyond the veil. He looked at me weird and said he only had one grandma and she called him. I laughed and told him that Betsy was the only one to call so far :) Silly kid!
Happy Birthday, Collin!
We always have to try to do something different each time (which gets to be tough when you go every month) This time we started right off with a trolley ride.
We made it!

We also tried to copy as many of the 'picturesque spots' that we could find - you'll see more of these you go along.
Tiki Room
Collin's favorite thing was that we were able to ride in the front of the monorail - both on the way to lunch and back
He loved it - but thought it was a little scary too :P
For a special birthday treat we went to Downtown Disney for lunch at Rainforest Cafe
Collin wanted to eat by the aquarium. I tried to get a video of his happy fish dance but he caught me and stopped in time

Collin always makes instant friends - we met this girl on the train on our way to Small World. Notice at the beginning of the ride they are sitting in the middle - by the time the ride was over Collin was nearly sitting on the edge of the boat and she kept scooting closer - and closer!

Here, finally is a picture of mom - at 30 weeks - can you believe I'm still going to Disneyland so much!
Waiting for Buzz Lightyear. It didn't seem quite so busy this time but the lines were so long - I'm also spoiled because I usually go in the winter when you can complain about a 20 minute wait...
Collin scored - since we have a passport already he got a $60 gift card instead. He ended up with 3 new webkinz - two he bought and one he talked our Costa Rican cast member to buy for him. We called Manuel in the morning to see if he was working so we could say hi. He was off but he met us for dinner and road a few rides with us - and even got Collin a present - I always said the cast members at Disneyland are the nicest around, but he definitely went the second mile.

Birthdays at Disneyland are so fun. You are so brave to take the kids by yourself. I have yet to try that. :o) I know what you mean about being spoiled. We went about a week ago and it's just not as fun when there are a lot of people there. I'll take a few closed rides a small crowds any day! :o)

That's CUTE. Thanks for sharing all the info. Glad you were okay with the early phone call...Love that kid. Good thing you didn't have a repeat of his head hanging while sleeping in the car on the way home from D-land when we went a couple of weeks ago, because he was able to lean his head on my shoulder and we snored all the way home (or at least I did!). :)
